Sin-bins are an alternative method of sanctioning and have been implemented in grassroots football for cautions shown to players on the field of play for dissent only.

Players sent to the sin-bin are shown a yellow card, and the referee also points to the touchline. These yellow cards are part of the accumulation of 5/10/15 cautions during a season.
