Referee Mentors provide support for newly qualified referees and those identified as potentially requiring additional support. This takes the form of one-off matchday support where the mentor can provide developmental advice or simply be a friendly face on the touchline.
Referee Match Day Coaches provide support with the Referee Progression Pathway for the Level Y1-Y2, 7-6 and 6-5 Progression Pathways. They will go out to those referees on the Referee Progression Pathway to watch their fixtures and provide a match day coaching report detailing their strengths and areas for focus which provides them with advice on enhancing their refereeing performance.
Referee Observers provide support with the Referee Progression Pathway for the Level 5-4 and 4W-3W Progression Pathways. They will go out to those referees on the Referee Progression Pathway to watch their fixtures and provide an observation detailing their strengths and areas for development which provides them with advice on enhancing their refereeing performance.
Referee Performance Coaches provide support with the Essex Centre of Refereeing Excellence (CORE) programme. The performance coach provides one-to-one support to those referees within the programme, attending fixtures officiated by the referee and quarterly sessions where the referee receives further development training.
Referee Observers provide support with the promotion scheme for Levels 7-6, 6-5, 5-4 and 4W-3W. They go out to those Referees on the promotion scheme to watch their fixtures and provide an observation detailing their strengths and areas for development which provides them with advice on enhancing their Refereeing performance.
